The 3M Versaflo M-973N cover complements M-307 headgear at foundry stations exposed to radiant heat. Its pre-oxidized aramid fabric has an outer aluminium coating. This part is intended for the thermal assembly specified by 3M with the M-961N over-visor frame and M-967N gold coated tinted over-visor. Order it alone to equip or renew the cover without including a hard hat, visor or standalone respiratory protection. Check its condition before each use at a hot workstation.
The M-973N is intended for the M-307. Fit it with the M-961N over-visor frame and M-967N gold coated tinted over-visor according to 3M instructions. The sold item is a cover without headgear, hard hat or visor. Preparation must retain all required elements of the respiratory system in use.
In foundries and assembly stations exposed to radiant heat, this cover equips the M-307 headgear in the intended thermal assembly. Task assessment must distinguish radiant heat from respiratory and eye protection needs. These radiant heat accessories are not intended for welding applications.
Identify the M-307 and thermal assembly elements before fitting. Follow instructions to position the cover with the required M-961N over-visor frame and M-967N gold coated tinted over-visor. Check textile condition and assembly before resuming headgear and respiratory air supply checks.
This cover is not intended for M-100/M-200 headgear or welding applications. Do not exceed the permissible operating temperature of any respiratory system component. Storage temperatures are not operating temperatures. Fabric performance is not a guarantee against burns or certification of the hard hat and visor. The cover does not filter air or replace any respiratory component.
Wipe the cover only according to its instructions. Before each use, examine the fabric, seams and aluminium coating; do not repair a damaged cover and replace it instead. Shelf life is 1 year in the original packaging with inspection before use. Store between -30 and 50 °C at humidity below 90 %. Shelf life does not guarantee service duration at the workstation.
Yes. The M-307 is the intended headgear with the M-961N over-visor frame and M-967N gold coated tinted over-visor according to instructions.
No. The order covers the M-973N cover alone.
No. Fabric standards describe performance in the specified tests and do not guarantee freedom from burns in every situation.
The method is wiping only. Do not repair a damaged cover; replace it.
Use 1 year in the original packaging and inspect before each use. Service duration then depends on cover condition and operating conditions.
For a worker preparing the M-973N cover before receiving equipment outside the hot area, plan blue lens Nemesis glasses (YA3301) for outdoor movement outside the headgear. The welding mask (R8212) is selected for a separate respiratory operation. A women's yellow 15-pocket survey vest (V6693F) organizes receiving accessories and black waterproof overalls (VP5629N) serve rainy travel. The barrel cone base (EPTBAB) equips existing receiving area traffic markers. These receiving garments are not proposed as foundry heat protection.
Headgear (RM307) is the intended support for this cover. For headgear care, the visor (RM927) renews the matching component; it does not replace the M-961N over-visor frame and M-967N gold coated tinted over-visor required for thermal assembly. The cooling (RV100HIK) air kit already contains an M-307, and the cover (RBT926) renews tube protection. This high temperature cover is distinct from the BT-927N radiant heat cover; do not treat them as equivalent. If the equipment to protect is an M-407 instead, choose the corresponding shield (RM975N). Follow the instructions specific to the thermal assembly before use.
