The 3M Speedglas 9100 06-0000-P10 passive lens assembly gives a compatible 9100 helmet a fixed shade 10, with a large 2.8 x 4.2 in window. Nothing to adjust: the shade stays constant, a real asset for long continuous welds. Sold as one assembly, it includes the glass lens and its adaptor. For upkeep, plan on the 06-0005 replacement (R06-0005-P10) lenses and the 126000 (R126000) inside cover.
No returnable if used. For more information about our return policy, please refer to the Orders and Returns.

Some welders prefer the simplicity of a passive lens: a shade that never changes, no battery to watch and the same behaviour from the first weld to the last. The 3M Speedglas 9100 06-0000-P10 assembly brings exactly that to compatible 9100 helmets. Its fixed shade 10 glass lens comes with a large 2.8 x 4.2 in viewing window to follow the joint along its full length. 3M recommends it for long continuous welds, and the portal presents it as suitable for wet surfaces. Sold as one assembly, it combines the lens and its adaptor, and accepts the covers specified for the 9100 passive cassette.
The 06-0000-P10 assembly fits compatible Speedglas 9100, 9100-Air, 9100 FX, FX-Air, QR and MP helmets, as well as the Versaflo M-407SG (RM407SG) and M-409SG (RM409SG) headtops listed by 3M. It suits arc, MIG/MAG, TIG above 1 A and plasma processes, in industrial maintenance, transportation, general manufacturing and mining. The replacement (R06-0005-P10) lenses in shades 10 to 13 and the 126000 (R126000) cover take care of its routine upkeep.
Figures 1 to 5 of the 9100 passive instructions show the order of the components, how to close the cassette and how to fit the outside cover. Once the assembly is engaged in the helmet, check that it is held securely and that every surface is clean.
Before each use, take a quick look at the shaded lens and its covers. A marked clear cover is replaced on its own, which preserves the lens. If the shaded lens is cracked or chipped, replace it with a passive lens in the shade you need.
Shade 10 must suit the process and welding current; refer to the shade chart in the instructions. Always use the complete assembly, with its covers and the required eye protection.
A passive lens keeps a fixed shade, with no electronics or battery. It is a simple solution that 3M recommends for long continuous welds.
The shade 10 glass lens and its adaptor, sold together as one unit. The 06-0005 lenses sold on their own are meant to renew the lens of an existing assembly.
Compatible 9100 helmets, namely 9100, 9100-Air, 9100 FX, FX-Air, QR and MP, plus the M-407SG and M-409SG headtops named by 3M.
Yes: the 06-0005 replacement lenses come in shades 10, 11, 12 and 13. Simply replace the lens in the adaptor.
The 9100 passive instructions list the 126000 inside cover, the 06-0200-51, 06-0200-52 and 06-0200-53 outside covers and the 06-0005 lenses. Replace the part that shows wear; the rest stays in service.
With a 9100 passive filter, the welder protects the eyes under the helmet with Astro OTG eyewear (YAU2500) and the hands with leather welding gloves (G605) with a wing thumb. Corded Classic earplugs (OA111), an 8214 respirator (R8214) against fumes (particles) and an orange flame-resistant long-sleeve shirt (V339) complete the outfit. Before welding, adjust this equipment to keep the eyes, hands and torso covered while handling the workpiece.
To maintain this passive assembly, choose a standard (R06-0200-51), hard-coat (R06-0200-52) or heat (R06-0200-53) outside plate to suit the planned work. The inside (R126000) plate protects the inside face of the lens. A magnifier (R06-0500-57) can complete the assembly when the welder needs a closer view of details on the workpiece.
