Restore a Speedglas 9000 helmet with the 3M 04-0112-00NC shell and front panel. Its narrow profile helps when approaching obstructed workpieces. The filter and headgear are excluded, allowing sound compatible components to be retained after inspection.
No returnable if used. For more information about our return policy, please refer to the Orders and Returns.

When only the outer shell is worn, a targeted repair retains compatible components that still have a place in the workshop. The 3M Speedglas 9000 04-0112-00NC shell is used to restore a 9000 series welding helmet or to build a spare helmet for the crew. Made of polycarbonate, it comes with its front panel, but without a welding filter or headgear. This format lets the shop reuse parts that are still in good condition from an existing helmet, or choose suitable new components. Permitted welding processes and currents depend on the approved installed filter and complete configuration. The shell alone does not establish a TIG current threshold.
A spatter-damaged shell can become the weak point of a helmet whose filter still works correctly. The 04-0112-00NC renews that outer shell and front panel while retaining the workshop's familiar 9000 platform. Replacing the damaged part does not remove the need to inspect the filter, protection plates and headgear separately.
The 3M catalogue highlights the slim profile of the 9002NC helmet in this family. Its shallower design compared with a 9100 helmet supports movement when the workpiece or surroundings leave little room around the face. The 9000 shell without a filter is explicitly listed among this platform's components. Optical performance, controls and shades remain those of the filter actually fitted.
This presentation suits a targeted repair or preparation of a spare helmet. It must not be confused with a complete helmet ready to protect the eyes from an arc: the welding filter and other required components still need to be installed.
3M associates this helmet with heavy infrastructure work. The shell mainly serves maintenance departments that manage a fleet of 9000 helmets: replacing a shell cracked or deformed after a fall, preparing a reserve helmet for a relief welder, or returning equipment stored in a site truck to service. It keeps a familiar helmet for welders used to the 9000 series, without buying a complete assembly again.
As supplied, the shell is not ready for welding: it has no welding filter and therefore provides no protection against arc radiation. Fit it with a filter and plates approved for the 9000 series and with a suspension before any use. It provides no respiratory protection.

| 9000 helmet shell with front panel (quantity: 1) | 04-0112-00NC |
Not included: welding filter and headgear. Also check the plates required by the selected filter before assembly.
The shell belongs to the Speedglas 9000 series. Choose a welding filter and plates intended for this series, then install a suspension suited to the helmet. After assembly, check that the filter is held securely, that the helmet tilts correctly and that no light passes around the viewing area.
9000 series, model 04-0112-00NC, polycarbonate shell, black and grey colour, front panel included, no side windows. Shell weight: 0.717 lb / 0.325 kg. Sold as one unit, without filter or headgear.
Identify the helmet series and the part numbers of components to be transferred before starting the replacement. Check the front-panel and filter retainers and the headgear mounting points. A cracked or distorted part must not be reused simply because it can still be fitted.
After assembly, adjust the suspension for the wearer and check stability with the helmet raised and lowered. The filter must be properly retained with its inner and outer protection in place. Check its operation before resuming welding. The view should remain clear; spatter and scratches on protection plates call for suitable replacement consumables, not modifications to the shell.
Inspect the shell during every reassembly and before each shift: a crack, deformation or damaged attachment is reason to remove it from service. Follow the 3M cleaning instructions for the helmet and its components. Store the assembly away from impacts and spatter when it is not being worn.
No. The 04-0112-00NC shell is sold without a welding filter; one must be installed, with its protection plates, before welding.
No. Headgear is not included: reuse a suspension in good condition or plan a new one.
Yes. The shell ships with its front panel.
It is part of the Speedglas 9000 series. The selected filters and plates must be intended for this series.
Yes, provided they are intended for this shell and pass inspection. This reference includes the front panel but excludes the filter and headgear. Replace damaged plates, retainers or suspension components before returning the helmet to service.
When organizing the tasks around this helmet, protect the eyes during tasks away from the welding arc with eyewear (YA12E93101); protect the hands while handling cool parts with gloves (GS13KFNT); keep hearing protection available near the workstation with earplugs (O1100); select respiratory protection for certain particulates following a risk assessment and fit verification with respirator (R8212), with no protection against gases or vapours; mark access routes around the work area with marking (EPT999).
Select the welding filter, protection plates and headgear for the exact 3M helmet configuration. Check their references before reassembly: belonging to a neighbouring series does not establish compatibility with this 04-0112-00NC shell. To compare model 04-0112-00NC with distinct configurations, also review variant (R08-0100-501C), solution (RG5-01), model (R06-0300-52SW), helmet (RG5-03-E09-0100), assembly (RG5-03E). Compare their contents with model 04-0112-00NC; the parts are not presumed interchangeable.
