In the Canadian construction and decontamination sectors, controlling fine dust is a top priority for worker health. The BitBuddie D1908 provides an effective barrier against harmful particles by suctioning them instantly during the drilling process. Unlike traditional post-work cleaning methods, this system captures debris, slurry, and silica dust before they can become airborne or settle on the floor. Whether you are working on concrete, brick, or materials containing asbestos, the BitBuddie ensures maximum visibility and enhanced respiratory protection.
Investing in this vacuum accessory means choosing operational efficiency. By eliminating the need for intensive cleanup after drilling, you save valuable time on your jobsites. Its flexible and robust design makes it the tool of choice for demanding contractors who refuse to compromise on safety and cleanliness.
The BitBuddie is the professional contractor’s n°1 choice for dust control when using a hand-held drill, to provide a dust-free working environment. This device captures 99% of the dust generated during drilling. Its quick and easy installation makes it an indispensable accessory. The transparent shell gives contractors the visibility they need for optimum control.
Our drill dust collector is a smart buy for several reasons. Firstly, it can help reduce the amount of dust and debris generated during drilling, which can improve air quality in your workspace and reduce the health risks associated with dust inhalation, which is why we offer this product. The number of workers affected by respiratory diseases involving asbestos fibers and silica is significant. These diseases are incurable, and the workers concerned unfortunately only realize this after many years. Often at the end of their careers, when they should be enjoying life.
Please note that for asbestos and silica removal work, you’ll need a HEPA vacuum cleaner suitable for the job. HEPA vacuums should, among other things, have passed a DOP test. Contact our customer service department for further details.
Remarkable Adjustability: Suitable for drilling diameters ranging from 1 inch up to 8 inches.
Suction-Grip Design: The vacuum’s suction power holds the BitBuddie firmly in place against the wall or floor, freeing up the operator’s hands.
Flexible Material: Made of durable rubber that conforms to irregular surfaces for a perfect seal.
Dual-Use Versatility: Effective for dry dust extraction or for capturing slurry during wet core drilling.
Universal Compatibility: Easily connects to most industrial vacuum cleaners equipped with HEPA filters.
To maintain your dust collector, wipe each element with a sponge soaked in water and a mild cleaning product, then dry each element with a clean cloth. The use of a respirator (mask) of at least category N95 is recommended.
Installing the BitBuddie is fast and requires no specialized tools. Place the shroud on the surface where the hole is to be drilled. Connect your industrial vacuum hose to the BitBuddie’s port. Turn on the vacuum: the suction will create a seal that secures the accessory to the surface (wall, ceiling, or floor). Then, insert your drill bit or core bit through the center of the opening and begin your work. For very rough surfaces, ensure the rubber seal is well-compressed to maintain suction.
To ensure a long lifespan for your BitBuddie, simple maintenance is required. After each use, rinse the interior of the shroud with clean water to remove concrete residues, slurry, or silica dust. If working in a decontamination context (asbestos), follow the specific rigorous cleaning procedures required for your industry. Regularly inspect the rubber for any cracks that could impair the seal. Store the tool flat to prevent it from warping under heat or the weight of other equipment.
For optimal performance, always use the BitBuddie with a certified HEPA vacuum, especially when working on hazardous materials. During wet coring, the BitBuddie is particularly effective at preventing contaminated water from spreading across the jobsite, significantly reducing slip hazards and cross-contamination. If working on a ceiling, ensure your vacuum’s power is sufficient to support the weight of both the shroud and the hose.
Yes, thanks to its innovative design, the vacuum suction allows the BitBuddie to stay fixed by itself on walls and ceilings, provided the surface is relatively smooth and the vacuum is powerful enough.
Absolutely. The BitBuddie is excellent for recovering water and drilling slurry, which keeps the jobsite dry and clean while protecting surrounding surfaces from splashes.
This specific model (D1908) is designed to fit diameters up to 8 inches (203 mm). For smaller diameters, the flexible material naturally adjusts to maintain constant suction around the bit.
