The 3M Speedglas G5VC 46-0000-30VC auto-darkening filter lets you choose the colour of the image in the dark state, on top of the shade itself. It offers light state 3, welding shades 8 to 14 and cutting mode 5. Its 4 sensors and TAP control make adjustments easy at the workstation. Sold as one filter, it equips a compatible G5-03 or the G5-01 (RG501) helmet, or replaces a filter at the end of its life.
No returnable if used. For more information about our return policy, please refer to the Orders and Returns.

Every welder sees the arc in their own way. With Variable Colour technology, the G5VC 46-0000-30VC filter offers three colour tones in the dark state: you keep the one that makes the weld pool and joint edges easiest for you to read. It moves from light state 3 to an adjustable welding shade from 8 to 14, with a separate cutting mode 5. Four sensors watch the arc and five sensitivity settings tune detection to your process. TAP control and the functions available through the 3M app make adjustments quick and simple. Sold as one filter, it renews the optics of a G5 helmet or equips a helmet supplied without a filter.
The G5VC fits the G5-01 (RG501) helmet and the G5-03 Pro, Pro Air and E helmets. On the inside, it takes the 06-0200-40 anti-fog (RG5TW-VC) cover designed for G5TW and G5VC filters. On the outside, the G5 instructions list the 06-0200-51, 06-0200-52 and 06-0200-53 plates. It is a natural choice for metalworking and metal processing, where reading the joint makes the difference.
Slide the G5VC into the welding shield seat as described in the helmet instructions, then refit the inside and outside covers. Next, set the shade, sensitivity and recovery delay, and run a check away from welding before striking an arc.
Keep the sensors clean and replace the protection covers as soon as they scratch: they are changed separately and preserve the filter. The G5VC runs on a CR2450N battery, with a published battery life of 1500 h. If the filter darkens poorly, check the battery and settings first, then follow the troubleshooting steps in the instructions.
This filter is not suitable for laser welding or cutting, or for processes requiring a shade greater than 14.
Choose the shade for the process and current, following the chart in the instructions. If the filter does not darken correctly, stop welding and check it before resuming.
It lets you choose among 3 colour tones in the dark state. Each welder can set the image of the arc to their preference and the job at hand.
Light state 3, welding shades 8 to 14 and cutting mode 5. Set the shade according to the process and current of your work.
It is designed for the G5-01 helmet and the G5-03 Pro, Pro Air and E helmets. Identify your helmet model before placing an order.
On the inside, the 06-0200-40 anti-fog cover. On the outside, one of the 06-0200-51, 06-0200-52 or 06-0200-53 plates described in the G5 instructions.
No, the G5VC is sold on its own, as one unit. It fits a compatible helmet supplied without a filter, or replaces optics that need renewing.
The G5VC filter mounts on the G5-01 used with the Adflo powered air-purifying system; under the helmet, the welder wears SecureFit SF401 glasses (YASF401) and a flame-resistant neck gaiter (V313). Endura split-leather gloves (G603), an H10B neckband earmuff (OPH10B) and a navy flame-resistant FR-Tech shirt (V131) complete the outfit. Before starting, adjust this equipment to your work clothing and inspect its condition while preparing the welding station.
This filter equips the G5-01 (RG501) helmet. When maintaining the same assembly, check the anti-fog (RG5TW-VC) plate behind the filter and the hard-coat (R06-0200-52) plate in front of it. The inner grinding visor (R46-0700-51) and the ratchet headgear (R46-0400-54) complete the components to examine when preparing the helmet for its next job.
