This product is approved by Health Canada and has been assigned a drug identification number (DIN: 02242474) under the Food and Drugs Act. This product also meets OSHA requirements regarding blood-borne pathogens such as Hepatitis B and HIV. Moreover, this product is certified by the EcoLogo program CCD-166, i.e. it is ecological, biodegradable and non-toxic to aquatic environments.

This disinfectant is usually used when renovating after water damage due to water infiltration, sewer backup or flooding. Benefect™ disinfectant is ideal for the restoration professionals, be they specialized in mold remediation or disaster recovery clean-up. This product is usually the second step to mold remediation, after clean-up and stain removal. It has been designed to sterilize while reducing one’s carbon footprint. Its sole active ingredient is thyme essential oil, which leaves a fresh smell after disinfection.

This product kills over 99.99% of molds, fungal spores, viruses, mycobacteria, blood-borne pathogens, odor-causing micro-organisms and gram-positive as well as gram-negative bacteria.

Dilution:

No dilution is required, the Benefect™ disinfectant has been designed as a ready-made product. The mixture must, however, be stirred before use.

Coverage:

The approximate coverage rate ranges between 1000 ft² to 1200 ft²/gal US and depends heavily on the porosity of the materials and the amount of product applied.

Disinfectant application:

The manufacturer recommends the use of a pump sprayer (SACC1, SACC2), a mop or a sponge to apply the Benefect™ disinfectant.

Its innovative formula has been designed to eliminate odours and molds on porous (carpets, textiles), semi-porous (cement, wood) and non-porous (plastic, metal) materials.

Simply apply Benefect™ disinfectant on the surface to be sterilized. No need to rinse or wipe the treated surface, as this product leaves no residue. It may even be safely applied on toys.

Limitations for Biodegradable disinfectant:

Keep out of the reach of children. No limitations have been issued for this product since it is less harmful than vinegar according to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) tests and Health Canada toxicity assessment regardless of the exposure route. It is recommended to keep this product in a sealed container at room temperature. The manufacturer sets the shelf life to two (2) years, regardless whether the bottle has been opened or not.
